When it comes to designing your new patio, there are several things you have to think about. Here’s our handy guide for the things you may need to consider for your new patio…

• Purpose and size
The purpose of your patio will dictate its size; therefore you should think about how you will be using it. As a guide, a 3m x 3m patio can typically accommodate a table big enough for 4-6 people. We recommend having a chat with us about your patio expectations.

• Position
Where are you going to put your patio? While the answer might seem obvious, as most patios are adjoined to a house, you might prefer a patio that integrates into the garden and includes weather protection.

• Privacy
When considering the position of your patio, you’ll also need to take into account the levels of privacy you have. If you don’t want to be overlooked, you may consider adding a trellis or pergola for greater privacy levels.

• Shape
While rectangular patios in the UK are popular, you may wish to include curved lines or bespoke shapes to make an impact. Don’t forget that plants and borders can also be a great addition to any patio and will create shape and texture.

• Practicalities
